San Ramon Valley Fire participates in the California Firefighter Joint Apprenticeship Committee program, also known as Cal-JAC. Firefighter Paramedics are registered in a 4 year apprenticeship program and must complete 1640 academy hours and 8000 on-the-job training hours. Single Role Paramedics are registered in a 2 year apprenticeship program and must complete 4000 on-the-job training hours.
Apprentices must enter all training hours in Target Solutions before the end of each month. Those training hours are submitted monthly to Cal-JAC which receives funding for training in return.
